As a Millennium Development Goals (MDG) facilitator, Debra conducts women empowerment circles to promote gender equality and women empowerment. These are spaces where women and girls can talk about the challenges they are facing and get assistance. It has been a difficult journey, getting women to openly speak about challenges they are facing. During sessions, sextortion together with land and property ownership by women have been cross cutting issues across communities. Women outlined the difficulties of owning property because of the dominance of patrilineality. Debra has been working with a team of lawyers to provide mobile legal aid clinics where women can access legal aid for free and can talk about their challenges individually without the judging eyes of the community.
